RepeaterID_RT97L
RepeaterID_RT97L connects to RT97L repeaters to periodically transmit your GMRS or Amateur Radio (HAM) license from a recorded audio file. MicroUSB power supply not included HOWEVER this unit can be powered by the repeater itself.
This unit is only intended for the Retevis RT97L repeater. For RT97S and MXR10, see our standard RepeaterID. For RT97P and RT97, see the RepeaterID_Universal.
Note: Some Micro-USB cables are charge-only meaning they cannot carry data. such cables will work to power RepeaterID but not to program it. If you need a data-capable MicroUSB cable to load audio to your device, we carry one here.
The RepeaterID_RT97L takes the existing functionality of our RepeaterID line and adds the features of a power adapter and handydapter!
- RepeaterID_RT97L can operate off of power from the Repeater*
- RepeaterID_RT97L has ports to connect a DB9 (OEM) or K1 style mic to use as a base station**
- RepeaterID has a 3.5mm aux speaker port to monitor the repeater with an external speaker
See a video of our earlier, and mostly unchanged, prototype being operated by The DIY Maker!
*These units typically perform well off of the Repeater's power, however there is just enough power available on the DB9 port to do so. Using certain external microphones with a high parasitic draw can cause the RepeaterID unit to restart or shut off. Powering the unit via USB is available as a fallback option.
**RepeaterID performs no amplifications of the external mic. Depending on the sensitivity of the microphone used, transmitted voice may sound louder or quieter than the OEM microphone.
