Handydapter sits on top of the RA97 variant of RepeaterID and allows a Kenwood style "k1" lapel mic, 3.5mm external speaker, or db9 OEM mic to be used in conjunction with RepeaterID, turning your repeater into a base station that also auto-IDs.
RepeaterID unit shown in photo is for demonstration purposes and sold separately.
Please note:
- This unit is intended to be used with RepeaterID and requires the ribbon cable. If you are interested in using a Handydapter WITHOUT repeaterID please contact us first.
- Due to the way the microphone tap circuitry is implemented, the external mic may pick up some audio while the automatic ID is occurring even if PTT is not being pressed.
- Most standard K1 lapel mics that have been tested work, but MICs that deviate from the simple Kenwood K1 standard may not work properly. For instance, a YAESU mic functions somewhat but causing repeaterID to always see the repeater as busy due to a draw on the COR pin. Klein and Commountain mics that have been tested work well, as have all external 3.5mm mono speakers we have tested so far.
